Sustainability

The transport industry is known for being a high carbon producer due to the heavy reliance on carbon fuels for long range haulage.

We are continually reviewing the feasibility of electric vehicles as part of our fleet (and hopefully one day hydrogen) although the current charging infrastructure across the UK for trucks and lorries is insufficient for our scope of our work and the range of mileage.

However we continue to find other ways to reduce our carbon load which currently include:

  • Solar panel 30kW supply to the offices and warehouses.
  • Charging points for employees with electric cars.
  • LED Lighting with PiR (motion detection) sensors throughout our buildings
  • Charitable donations to environmental concerns.
  • Regular maintenance of vehicles to keep them smooth running, efficient and ensure emissions.
  • Up to date Euro 6 compliant vehicles (standards that reduce the level of pollutants produced by trucks).
  • Route optimisation.
  • Reducing paper usage and using recycled products.
  • Re-usable cups in our canteen and on the road.
  • Using renewable energy where possible from our electric suppliers.

We also hold an ISO 14001 environmental management system certification (since 2019) which requires us to monitor our outputs and make continual improvements on our environmental impact as well as abiding by current environmental legislation.

We are also in the preliminary stages of the “NetZero” process, whereby the company commits to emitting Net Zero carbon emissions by 2050.
