Furnells prides itself on its extremely low level of staff turnover. It is operated by an excellent team of highly qualified individuals many of which have been with the team for years becoming a member of the Furnells Family and have been trained in everything from airport security to the carriage of dangerous goods by road, including Class 7 (Radioactive Materials).
Here is our story.
1967
Furnells Established
David Furnell established Furnell Transport from his mums flat with a small van.
1978
First Warehouse
1978 The first warehouse was opened in Kent Brushes,
Apsley in Hemel Hempstead.
1985
Zachary Thole
Our current Managing Director joined the company at the tender age of 17 working his way to his current position.
1988
Dangerous Goods
Furnells started transporting hazardous goods.
1989
Parking
1989 saw us open our first Lorry Park.
1998
Jackie Brompton
1998 saw another long serving member of our team join. Jackie is our Traffic Office Manager.
2000
Enterprise House
Furnells moved into new premises.
2010
LLWR Framework
Furnells were accepted onto the LLWR Framework agreement as a prefered supplier.
2015
Enterprise House
Became our permanent home as Furnells purchases the property.
2017
The Big 50
Furnells celebrated 50 years in business.
Present Day
Long Service
Both David and Zac remain in the company to this day.
